The Eye, Part 2...

Title: The Eye

Part 2

Creative Writing (10) - Original Unedited Version

______________________________

The jealous man spent the next ten years of his life building The Eye. He himself oversee the construction. He could not trust anybody to build such highly sought after technology. A delicate thing of beauty really. Unlike those chunky pieces of equipments the Americans, Russians and China littered in the vast array of the Universe.

He wanted his “Eye” to reach every corner of the world discreetly, unnoticeable; after all, his aim is not to impress the world. The less people who knew about it, the better.

Meteorites.

If there is one thing the males in his family found a common ground is their love for meteorites. All his good memories of his father and grandfather is watching them talk for hours about the possibilities of the possible uses of these rocks. In all their years of research and after hundreds of millions of dollars invested in the research; they have not found one. All their collections hidden in the family vault. Its mystery, magic and possibilities, locked tightly in its unassuming, ugly colour, cavity encrusted surface.

One day, he found himself sitting in this room watching the rocks for hours. No thoughts in his head. He feels powerless next to them, and he love the feeling. Until the day he decided to build the Eye.

He wanted to build something undetectable by every country in the world both in the earth’s surface and out of it.  Something that no man created technology can reach or detect. Man has always been fascinated with invisibility.

Invisible airplane, airships, cars - so why go there?

What is the vast outer space abundant of? - Meteorites.  Rocks scattered everywhere.

What is the Earth’s surface abundant of? - Gold. He owned a couple mining sites.

The jealous man found a way to extract powdery element of a single meteor. Mix it with a generous amount of gold in liquid form. From there, he created a solid form, a paper-thin metal.

He wanted to test his theory, if he can make a satellite disk made of this material.

What will the radar see?

And after years of closing millions of dollars' worth of business deals, nothing prefers him for the elation he felt the moment the radar showed a meteorite reading on its scale.

A paper-thin material hidden in plain sight.  Every satellite outside the surface of the Earth, owned by every country in the world will see the “Eye” as just another rock.

And all its Eyes are looking at the “Tree of Life.”

In the span of ten years while building the “Eye” - He hired Detectives, Private Investigators, to look for people who work for the “The Tree of Life.”

Those people who were approached by them, those individuals who accepted their offers and he paid close attention to those who refused.

The Eye followed all these people. It looked deeper inside the organisation.

From the highest in the branch, to the lowest leaf on the ground.

He found out that every branch of the tree form as the branches of society.

Entertainment, Justice Department, Police Headquarters, Politics, World Leaders, Security, television, media, news, gaming, charities. The Eye watched them all.

All the leaves of the “Tree of Life” are the people.

Some of them were placed on that tree from the day they were born; leaders, change makers, scientist, doctors, politicians, to name few. But then there are also others who refused. Some rebel against it, some see it as a manipulation imposed in their lives.

All of these, “The Eye” can see. All of them, “The Eye” followed.

He hates him. The wealthy businessman hates the Leader and the founder of the Organisation. He reminds him of his own father. The way he manipulates everyone around him. He needed to show the world what the “Tree of Life” really is.

But unknown to the jealous man;

The first Private Investigator he hired worked for the “Tree of Life.”

They already warned him when and where the businessman will contact him.

They said, “Be honest. Tell him what he needed to know.”

Meanwhile…

In a private island owned by the organisation - sitting under the tree. Surrounded by white flowers, sat A guru. A master teacher.

A woman walked closed to him, and said, “He is coming.”

The Leader replied. “Yes. But before he reaches me, he will get to you first - his mother.”

The Eye

Part 2

The jealous man spent the next ten years building The Eye.
He oversaw every part of it himself.
He could trust no one with a technology this sought-after.

A delicate thing of beauty.
Not like the bulky machines the Americans, Russians, and Chinese had scattered across the universe.
He wanted his Eye to reach every corner of the world.
Discreet. Unnoticeable.
His aim was never to impress.
The fewer who knew, the better.

Meteorites.
It was the one thing the men in his family agreed on — their love for meteorites.
All his good memories of his father and grandfather were the same:
hours spent talking about the possibilities locked inside those rocks.

Years of research. Hundreds of millions spent.
They never found one.
Their collection sat hidden in the family vault —
mystery and magic sealed inside an ugly, cavity-crusted surface.

One day he sat in that room for hours, staring at them.
No thoughts.
He felt powerless beside them.
And he loved the feeling.

Until the day he decided to build the Eye.

He wanted something no country could detect.
Not on Earth. Not above it.
Something no man-made technology could reach.

Man has always been obsessed with invisibility.
Invisible planes. Airships. Cars.
So why stop there?

What is outer space full of? Meteorites. Rocks scattered everywhere.
What is the Earth full of? Gold.
And he owned mines.

He found a way.
Powder from a single meteor, mixed with liquid gold.
From it he forged a paper-thin metal.

He had to test it.
Could he build a satellite disk from this material?
What would the radar see?

Years and millions in business deals later, he got his answer.
The radar read it as a meteorite.
A paper-thin thing hidden in plain sight.

Every satellite owned by every country would see the Eye
as just another rock.

And all of its Eyes were watching the Tree of Life.

In those ten years, he hired detectives. Private investigators.
To find everyone who worked for the Tree of Life.
Those who were approached. Those who accepted.
And especially those who refused.

The Eye followed them all.
It looked deeper. From the highest branch to the lowest leaf.

He learned the branches of the tree matched the branches of society:
Entertainment. Justice. Police. Politics.
World leaders. Security. Television. Gaming. Charities.
The Eye watched them all.

The leaves of the Tree of Life were the people.
Some were placed there from birth — leaders, change-makers, scientists, doctors, politicians.
Others refused.
Some rebelled. Some called it manipulation.

The Eye saw all of it.
The Eye followed all of it.

He hated him.
The wealthy businessman hated the Leader and founder of the Organization.
He reminded him of his father.
The way he moved people like pieces.

He needed the world to see what the Tree of Life really was.

What he didn’t know:
The first private investigator he hired already worked for the Tree of Life.
They had warned him.
When. Where. Who.
“Be honest,” they said. “Tell him what he needs to know.”

Meanwhile…

On a private island owned by the organization,
under a tree surrounded by white flowers,
sat a guru. A master teacher.

A woman approached him.
“He is coming,” she said.

The Leader replied,
“Yes. But before he reaches me,
he will get to you first —
his mother.”
